Carol Buttenham

Carol Buttenham

Yoga Instructor

Teaching: Friday 7am 30-Minute Yoga for Athletes

Pronouns: she | her | hers

Favorite yoga pose: Reclined Bound Angle | Supta Baddha Konasana

Bio: Carol Jane Buttenham’s first yoga class was a lesson in balance, literally. While working as a musician onboard Carnival Cruise Lines from 2000-2003, Carol learned the basic postures. Moving to Nashville, she continued her journey, learning from a variety of teachers of various styles and traditions.

After 19 years of practice Carol was encouraged by teachers and friends to attend teacher training. She chose Liberation Nashville’s 200hr training because their focus encompassed the whole of yoga. Carol’s original intention was not necessarily to become a teacher but to deepen her own practice, learn more about the history of yoga, meditation and pranayama. After the first weekend of training everything changed and she couldn’t wait to become a yoga instructor.

Carol continues to expand her practice and knowledge with training in Senior and Chair Yoga, Trauma Sensitive, Yin Yoga and Hands-on assists. Her goal as an instructor is to encourage beginners, inspire all experience levels and journey through the Eight Limb Path of Yoga together.

Shaye Coe

Shaye Coe

Yoga Instructor

Teaching: Monday 7am 30-Minute Yoga for Athletes

Pronouns: she | her | hers

Fav yoga pose: Wheel | Urdva Dhandurasana | Chakrasana

Bio: Movement has always been an important factor in Shaye’s life. Having been on a strict schedule for 18 years as an equestrian show jumper, movement had always been structured, drilled, and perfected. She stayed away from ‘free form’ movements such as dance and yoga out of fear of not being perfect or not being able to do it right.

What she didn’t realize is how much freedom they would bring her. Being an anxious natured person, she has found peace in the ebb and flow of yoga and works towards a less judgemental version of herself through this movement. Through the completion of her trauma-informed RYT-200 certification, she wants to create a safe space for students to be curious about themselves and play with different types of movement.
